Block 8 of the Hamtune Quilt



GUILDHALL

Northampton has had a Guildhall since the mid 12th Century. The present Guildhall was commenced in 1864 - architect Edward William Godwin who was influenced by "The Stones of Venice" John Ruskins masterpiece on Venetian art and architecture. Its gothic facade makes it one of Northampton's most attractive buildings.
